ArtMate

ArtMate is an art-lending program that allows students to borrow a work from the Galleries’s art collection for their residence hall room for the academic year. Gallery staff and interns selected over 145 pieces out of the 4,400 works in the college’s permanent art collection spanning centuries, regions, and genres to provide a variety of aesthetics for students to choose from.

Come view the artworks available for students to live with through September 9, 2026, when we will host our Selection Party! The program is open to students living in all on-campus residence halls.

How to Participate:

Imagine transforming your residence hall room into a personal gallery with a piece of art that speaks to you. With ArtMate, you can do just that! This unique art lending program allows the first 135 students to sign up to select an artwork to showcase in their room for the entire academic year. Whether you’re drawn to vibrant colors, thought-provoking black-and-white photographs, or mysterious portraits, ArtMate offers a diverse collection to suit every taste. Don’t miss your chance to add a touch of inspiration and creativity to your living space! 

-Students will fill out the Google Form between Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, 8:00 a.m. and Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, 1:00 p.m. The 2026-27 program accommodates 135 students on a first come, first served basis, with an open waitlist. Students studying abroad in either the Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 are not eligible to participate.The earlier you sign up, the earlier your selection number.

-Watch your email to learn if you’re one of the lucky 135 students who will get to participate! Emails sent by Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, 5:00 p.m. with a selection number based on when you completed the form and designated time on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

-During your designated time, visit the VAC for the ArtMate Selection Night on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 5:30-7:30 p.m. to claim your artwork and enjoy a boba tea and snacks! You will be called into the Gallery in groups of 10 to select artwork. 

-Gallery staff and interns will deliver and install the artwork for you on your residence hall’s designated day, between Monday, Sept. 14, and Friday, Oct. 2, 2026. Stay tuned for the schedule!

-Enjoy your artwork & show it off to all who visit your room!

-Gallery Staff and Interns to inspect and remove your artwork and patch the wall between Monday, Apr. 26 and Wednesday, May 5, 2027.
