Over the course of 2018-2019 this video wall will show the work of professional artists who have been selected by a panel of judges including members of the Art Council Advisory Committee and Davidson faculty and staff. Works rotate every few months.

 

Heloisa Escudero (Brazilian, Italian, American)

Heloisa Escudero is a Brazilian-born artist based in the United States, with Brazilian, Italian, and American citizenships. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Massachusetts College of Art and her Master of Fine Art from the San Francisco Art Institute. Her interests include interactive and tangible work and the complex dimensionality of the human psyche and behavior.

 

Janaye Brown (American)

Janaye Brown earned her BA from California State University and her MFA from the University of Texas. She currently lives and works in Shanghai, China. In her videos she explores fragments of narratives, the passage of time, and the inherent anticipation and complexities that exist even in familiar scenes.

 

Charles Sommer (American)

Charles Sommer earned his BFA from the University of South Florida and his MFA from CUNY Brooklyn College. He is interested in constructing his own worlds by exploring the intersection of physical, digital, and psychological landscapes. The natural world, science fiction, and unexplained phenomena all come together in his work in representational and abstract forms, meant to provoke curiosity.

Jason Robinson is currently an assistant professor in the Art Department at the University of Mary Washington. He specializes in single-channel experimental videos, as well as live performances, and gifs.
