An opening celebration will be virtual, streamed here on our YouTube Channel.

The Annual Student Art Exhibition highlights more than 60 works produced during the academic year by both art majors and non art-majors at Davidson College. Works on view have been selected by the studio art faculty and include drawings, paintings, sculptures, prints, digital art and more.

Awards will be selected and presented by guest juror Dr. Emily Stamey, Curator of Exhibitions at the Weatherspoon Art Museum at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. Stamey’s most recent projects include Dread & Delight: Fairy Tales in an Anxious World and solo exhibitions of work by Sanford Biggers, Danica Phelps, and Hank Willis Thomas, and To the Hoop: Basketball and Contemporary Art, which opened in February 1, 2020. Stamey has held curatorial positions at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art in Arizona and the Ulrich Museum of Art at Wichita State University in Kansas. Her research focuses on the social histories of modern and contemporary art in the United States. She holds an MA and PhD in art history from the University of Kansas and a BA in art history from Grinnell College in Iowa.
